Dakota Fontenot

Dakota was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He received his high school diploma from Faith West Academy in Katy. After completing high school, Dakota was accepted into The Honors College at the University of Houston, where he began pursuing a major in accounting. During his second year, Dakota began pursuing a second major in entrepreneurship and was selected for enrollment to The Cyvia and Melvyn Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship in the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, an academically rigorous program that has been named the #1 undergraduate entrepreneurship program in the United States. Dakota graduated Cum Laude from the University of Houston as a University Honors Graduate in 2016, having received a Bachelor of Business Administration in both Accounting and Entrepreneurship.

After receiving his undergraduate degrees, Dakota began working in the litigation finance industry, helping attorneys across the U.S. procure capital from hedge funds and institutional investors to grow their legal practices. Dakota went back to the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston in the summer of 2017 to pursue graduate studies and graduated in the summer of 2018 with a Master of Science in Accountancy. During this time, Dakota also graduated from the University of Houston Paralegal Certificate Program as the Salutatorian of his class. After receiving his certificate in paralegal studies, Dakota started working for a small boutique law firm that specialized in helping former NFL Players navigate the legal claim process for the NFL Concussion Settlement.

Dakota then went on to enroll in law school at South Texas College of Law – Houston, where he graduated with his Doctorate in Jurisprudence in May of 2021. He then took the July 2021 Universal Bar Exam, passing on the first attempt and officially receiving his Texas Bar License in October 2021. Dakota later received his Arizona Bar License in August 2022.

Dakota has continued working with attorneys across the nation, assisting with every aspect of a firm’s IT infrastructure and backend administrative processes. He has assisted with the data collection and workup of thousands of wrongfully injured individuals.
